Catch What We Did In March 2016

The month of March grabbed us by our necks and made my planner a colorful book of tasks and appointments. We were booked to our ears in doctors appointments, birthday parties, must do lists, and the things that come on a daily basis. We ran out our front door half clothed and tooth paste on our chins way to many times. Running late seemed to be a reacquiring event for us in the early mornings of March. Being night owls left us with 3-4 hours of sleep for 12-16 hour days. It stunk but we made it through and hopefully learned our lesson as April has been a lot easier.

Physical Therapy Appointments : Twice a week since the last week of February to the first week of April, physical therapy has been an adventure. Travis loves these sessions, I mean tears of joy, pain are coming out of his eyes every time we leave. Afterwards he feels a little better and seems to have more motivation in his knee. After two weeks of therapy Travis improved by 13% then by our last session in March that increased to 32% improvement. Now that we have finished our sessions we are being recommended to a PCL Specialist who creates custom braces. Travis even had the option to select the color of brace he will be sporting for the next three to six months. He choose black, how original.

Birthday Parties : In the middle of March we spent a beautiful Friday night at a local bar in the big city to celebrate one of my close friends birthday. He turned the BIG 29 and wanted to bring in the new age with lots of alcohol and good times. Since most of the guests who attended also wanted to partake in the alcohol and good times, Travis and I took the duty of babysitting. Before we even arrived to the bar a quarter of our group was already drunk and the rest were well on their way. By the end of the night the birthday boy was being carried out of the bar and sober drivers were being tortured on the way home. We had a blast and the memories will never be forgotten.

Car Repairs : Since the end of Fall, Travis and I have been up to our ears in car repairs for our 2003 Chevy Blazer. Our March visit to a new mechanic and dear friend of mine takes the cake in our all around car repair experiences. After retrieving our vehicle out of the shop in January, our ability to turn right was extremely restricted and it sucked. Have you ever tried parking a car without being able to make a sharp right turn? After dealing with this for a few months, I reached out to a friend who is a mechanic at a local car dealership. He looked it over and in a matter of fifteen minutes the problem was found and fixing it was quite simple. All we had to do was put a right tie rod on the right tire, funny thing is we just had our tie rods replaced in December. Strange right? I guess our old mechanic didn't understand that a left tie rod wasn't made to go under the right tire. Which naturally caused the tie rod to grind down our rim and restrict our capability of turning right. So after paying our old mechanic $577.00 in December. We had to shell out another $400.00 to purchase a new tie rod that we already paid for. Great Stuff!

Chicken Pox : As children Travis and I experienced the itchy moments of chicken pox but unfortunately my mother did not. One night my mom contacted me asking to take her to the hospital because she could hardly breath and felt itchy all over the place. She believe that she was having an allergic reaction to something. Doing what any daughter would do, I took her itchy butt to the hospital, and three hours later we were sent home with no answers. The only test they took was a drug test and when that came back negative they suddenly seemed confused. When the anti-itch medicine wasn't working they just assumed she was having a reaction to the new work environment my mom had begun the week prior. So they sent us home with a few pills, hoping they would help comfort her until the symptoms were relieved. Within 24 hours all of the bumps became blisters and the itchiness increased rapidly. Luckily we had already scheduled an appointment with her primary doctor for the following Monday. As soon as her doctor laid eyes on her the diagnoses was clear, my mom had adult chicken pox. The following week was filled with trying to avoid skin to skin contact and lots of medicine.

When we were able to kick back and relax, we were able to cuddle up with our puppies and watch some of our favorite TV shows. Thank you for Netflix and Hulu! Other times we were cramming boxes with winter clothes, throwing out unwanted property, and preparing for our move. What did the month of March do to your calendar?

Things You Can Do in Oklahoma City

Traveling across the united states has always been a realistic goal of mine since I was a young teen and I am sure many of you also share this goal. Thanks to Katie at House. Life. Girl for leaving a comment on my most recent giveaway about her love for traveling and recommending a post about things people can do in my area if traveling. I will be honest I currently live in a very small town with probably around 20,000 people and there isn't really anything someone should travel 50+ miles to see. So I thought it would be fun to share what cool things travelers should include in their must see while visiting the Oklahoma City area.

Oklahoma City Zoo - Admission Cost is $8.00 per adult - Travis and I are huge zoo fans and coming from a city that has one of the worst zoo I have ever been too the Oklahoma City Zoo is worth seeing. We visit the Oklahoma City Zoo at least every three to six months because zoos aren't just for kids. It doesn't matter if they have new animals because each time we go I am able to catch a different view of the animal. Believe it or not they are not always sleeping. You won't see us complain when we get to see brand new babies or new exhibits.  Interacting with the staff is also a hoot. They are so friendly and informative so if you are like my adorable husband and ask a thousand questions about the animals they never look annoyed. Their under water exhibit has tons of salt water fish, sharks, sea lions, and otters, which is something you can't skip on. The last few visits we were able to bring along my adorable nephews and lets just say that is an adventure in itself. Bringing kids to the zoo is a completely different experience but the Oklahoma City Zoo makes it a little easier. There Kid Space is incredible with a barn style petting zoo, splash pad, and plenty of play grounds across they entire zoo. Two of our favorite parts of the zoo for kids is the Carlisle which is never a regret and the water fall and clean water stream where little ones can play and you can put your feet in after walking. Speaking of walking, if you aren't in a walking mood or have a messed up knee like Travis catch a ride on their zoo train.

Museum of Osteology - Admission Cost is $8.00 per adult - Along with loving animals we love to know more about them under neither their appearance. What better way to learn then by visiting a skeleton museum? This museum has over 300 different skeletons and a few different learning stations. Recently the Oklahoma City Zoo donated their Elephant Chai's skeleton to the museum so we are super excited to be able to view that soon and see how they display this beautiful animal. The entire museum is clean, informative, and well presented with such a large variety of specimens from around the world. Most of their skeletons are displayed as though the animal is actually in motion or as realistic as possible, hard to explain but it is pretty cool. If you are into seeing some bones and learning more about how animals and other specimens function under their skin, check this place out. Heads Up : This is a small museum and only has a small gift shop so if you are hungry or have children who like to snack make sure to eat prior to admission or bring a snack along.

Frontier City - Admission Cost is $38.99 per adult - Roller Coasters, Cotton Candy, Water Rides, Old West Shows, and hours of Fun is the only way to describe why you should visit Frontier City. I have visited this park as an adult and as a pre teen and don't regret it either way. There is so much to do and a whole day is pretty much what it takes to visit every part of it. You can see live actors in the wild west, dancers and illusions in The World of Magic, clowns and comedy in the circus, or attend a free concert with admission. Who wouldn't want to see entertainment like Hunter Hayes, Brett Michaels, and American Authors? Just to list a few that are coming soon. Frontier City is a great place for kids and adults to enjoy an afternoon of fun and adventures. Some of our favorite rides are the Renegade Rapids, Silver Bullet, Steel Lasso, and Geronimo Skycoaster. Looking for more fun? Grab a Two Park Pass and visit White Water Bay for a day of water slides, water rides, and lounging in a float.

Oklahoma City National Memorial - Admission Cost is $15.00 per Adult - One of the most remembered days in Oklahoma is April 19 1995, which was the day a horrible person decided to take the lives of 168 lives. This museum and memorial represents that day and allows people from across the state and world to remember the lives that were lost that day. The Outdoor Symbolic Memorial is absolutely beautiful and allows visitors to learn and bring thoughts and prayers. The Museum allows visitors to become familiar with that tragic day, the lives that were lost, and the steps Oklahoma City has taken to bring hope. Travis and I have only visited once since our move to Oklahoma and even though we don't prefer to return due to the emotional toll it has for some of my friends and family, I would recommend a visit to anyone who would like to learn about the history behind this memorial.

Memorial not your cup of tea? Visit Bricktown which is the area surrounding the memorial. Great Food, Friendly People, and Plenty of Shops to Explore.

After typing these all up I believe Travis and I will be making some new weekend plans for the upcoming months. If you are planning a trip to Oklahoma City, feel free to take a few pictures and share them with me. I would love to see and hear about your experience with any of the above locations. Come across a place that isn't listed? Share! Travis and I are always down to view new places and explore new adventures. Before you go, make sure to enter into our first giveaway to win  $25 Starbucks Gift Card, you could use it as a treat for your next road trip.

Fresh New Start

Hello & Welcome to Mrs. Triple Threat ! A few months ago I was struggling to find my place in the big world of blogging and at times not staying true to myself. Posting whatever little thing came to my mind and spending hours in front of my laptop just figuring out how to type up a paragraph. I began to dislike what I was typing and eventually stop typing all together. When I began to feel the blogging jitters I would sit down and stare at the screen. How could I type up a post that I felt didn't match the style and direction of my blog? The name was wrong, the layout was wrong, and the author was completely torn between starting over or continuing to say it may get better. After talking to my husband and figuring out exactly what direction I wanted my little blog to go in, I made the decision to deactivate my previous blog while I organized and designed everything here. Selecting the perfect name was my first step to happiness and blogging bliss.

Mrs. Triple Threat is actually a nickname I have had since 2011 when my husband and brother in law decided to nickname me after a bad food poisoning experience. Gross, I know but that's a story for another time. The nickname grew on me quickly and made for a bad ass gamer tag so I decided to keep it. After blogging for over a year as a newly engaged bride to be, I pondered renaming my blog Mrs. Triple Threat but went against it because I thought it was too personal. That is when Little Bitty Changes was created and at first I thought the new name was catchy and almost perfect to how our lives were as a newlyweds. Key word almost. Now after four years of blogging I have finally wrapped my mind and heart around allowing my nickname to become a bigger part of me and I couldn't be happier.

Now that we have all the basics out of the way, let me tell you what my new and exciting plans are for Mrs. Triple Threat as a lifestyle blog. This little corner of the inter web will be a place to bring a smile to not only my face but to each and every one who visits. I won't lie, there will be post that probably will make people feel things that don't necessarily make them want to smile but my goal is never to upset but to educate and share. Posting tips and tricks on how to navigate through the little things in life or to prepare you for the big things to come. Mrs. Triple Threat is where I will be free to express my love for books, makeup, photography, being body positive, and so much more.

To thank you for reading all my rambling and just stopping by feel free to enter to win a $25 Starbucks Gift Card. Giveaway is for US residents only and will end on 04.16.2016 at 12:00AM  Central Time. One winner will be selected at random through RaffleCopter within 72 hours of the giveaway ending. Good Luck!

PS. For anyone wondering, I will not be transferring any of my old post from my other blog as I would prefer to recreate them with better quality posts.
